Blue Button Coasters

A while ago I posted some photos of some new round button coasters that I'd just made. I've now glazed them and listed them in my shops. These are denim blue and the next batch due out of the kiln will be green. There are also a few other patterns and new colours too which will be launched for Christmas.

They will withstand the heat from your hot winter drinks, they have four rubber feet on the underside to stop them slipping or marking surfaces.

Time to start making Christmas decorations now or it'll be Christmas before i know it.

Preparing for the Christmas rush

Here are the cupcake holders i got out of the kiln earlier this week. I've been testing out muffin cases too but prefer the cupcake ones.

This time of year i often find i'm having one mad rush after another. Usually after nearly selling out of xmas decorations at every show i spend every night of the next week making more, this year i'm trying to prepare for the Christmas rush. This is this years design, more contemporary than last years trees.

I've also got a top tip of how to dry them flat, place them in between dry plaster, it will absorb the moisture and dry them out quickly too, great when you've got limited time.

I also experimented making some buttons, these are them. I've not put any in my shops yet as i'm still deciding what to do with them. I might sew some on my pots, not sure yet.

I've inherited some buttons!

I went to visit my parents yesterday and had a lovely surprise. Mum had found my Nan's old button collection and gave me the whole lot! I love the tin, and there are some lovely buttons, some so nice i don't want to use them.

On the way home I went to visit my other Nan and she gave me some freshly cut lavender. I've left some in the car to freshen it up and the rest i've hung in my kitchen, the smell this morning was just like the fresh summer air!

Things that need a new home

I've been having a clear out and wondered if anyone would be interested in the following items. I might list them on ebay but can't decide if anyone would actually want them, please can you leave a comment if you think i should (or shouldn't) or if you are interested please get in touch as I'd like nothing more than to skip the ebay part!

Firstly, some fantastic blue retro fabric, it was curtains so i suppose they could still be used as curtains if anyone wanted as they are still lined. One measures 82" wide x54" long. i love this fabric but just don't have any use for it.

Then i have a selection of four buckles. Two are wooden and two are metal.

This collection of buttons that are gold and silver coloured. There are 6 anchor buttons included in this selection if anyone is currently on the nautical theme.

Does anyone use these Royal Air force buttons anymore?A whole collection i believe.

Finally a selection (420g) of various buttons that need a new home.
