Wall of frames

A few few months ago I saw an entry on a blog I follow by Jennifer Ramos, Made By Girl about a wall of framed art, check out her blog post here. As Jennifer made it look so good i thought I'd give it a go.

I've been working on this project for a while now and I'm so glad it's finally finished. Over the last few months I've been collecting picture frames from various sources, mostly a charity shop and my parents loft. It probably shouldn't have taken so long, feels a bit like I've dragged this changing rooms project out for too long but I'm pleased with the final result.

It didn't get off to a great start as i tried painting a few frames but they looked a bit too DIY so i bought a few cans of spray paint which worked wonders and gave a really smooth finish.

This is how the frames started, some dark wood, light wood and some already white.

After a bit of sanding and a few coats of spraying they are nearly ready for the wall. After many different layouts on the carpet I'm pleased with the final layout.

And here it is. Still need a few images/pieces of art as there are blank frames in this photo.

I treated myself to a piece of work from Claire of Miso Funky , i love it! it came in this frame which is perfect, thanks Claire for the speedy work!

So thanks to Jennifer for sharing her wall of framed art which i love and for writing great blog posts every time.

Things that need a new home

I've been having a clear out and wondered if anyone would be interested in the following items. I might list them on ebay but can't decide if anyone would actually want them, please can you leave a comment if you think i should (or shouldn't) or if you are interested please get in touch as I'd like nothing more than to skip the ebay part!

Firstly, some fantastic blue retro fabric, it was curtains so i suppose they could still be used as curtains if anyone wanted as they are still lined. One measures 82" wide x54" long. i love this fabric but just don't have any use for it.

Then i have a selection of four buckles. Two are wooden and two are metal.

This collection of buttons that are gold and silver coloured. There are 6 anchor buttons included in this selection if anyone is currently on the nautical theme.

Does anyone use these Royal Air force buttons anymore?A whole collection i believe.

Finally a selection (420g) of various buttons that need a new home.

Ceramics on Folksy.com

Thought it was time i shared a few folksy finds with you. I've picked four of my favourite ceramicists who have wonderfully stocked shops on folksy.com

I love this beautiful singular butterfly pinned to an olive green background by Julia Davey of White Elephant.
You can see this and lots more in Julia's shop on folksy.com.

This Pondlife mini dish by Prince Design UK is stunning. This little bowl was inspired by floating leaves on a pond, carried by currents and collecting in corners. Each organic stamp was imprinted by hand into the soft clay, and later glazed with a watery blue glaze.

I like the simplicity of this Speckled Pink Pouring Bowl by Penny Spooner Ceramics. See more hand built and thrown potter at Penny's shop on folksy.

This porcelain pendant by Sea Urchin has holes filled with green glass and a touch of gold lustre on it. I've see Sea Urchins pendants in so many places on the Internet lately, they are truly amazing. See more at Sea Urchin's shop on folksy.
