The Henley Arts Trail 2010

On Friday we went to the private view of venue 13 of the Henley Arts Trail. There was so much lovely handmade work there I had to treat myself to a few things.

I'd seen this on Beady Pool's facebook page a few weeks ago and rather liked it so I quickly snapped it up. I did have mine adapted slightly so it doesn't have the silver heart.

I also bought two of these cute badges from Sumptuosity, I'll be wearing one out today.

I couldn't reist these fab melamine on oak coasters from Kate & Anna. They've finally added some colour to our white living room. They have a fab pic and mix idea, the only trouble is it takes ages to decide which combination to have.

Yesterday we also visited seven venues during the day, my favourites were venue 13, 9 and 11. Check out Wendy Penrose at venue 11, a fab mixture of makers at venue 9 and Jo Jo Jewellery, Beady Pool, Patchwork Butterfly, Ellen Brown, Kate & Anna, Penny Spooner and more at venue 13.

Elephant spotting!

I've been elephant spotting today. Has anyone else seen the decorated elephants that aim to raise support for the Asian elephant, which is threatened with extinction?

I only saw two and could only photograph one as there was a dude sitting on the other one which would have ruined the photo, I wish I had asked him to move now.

This one was amazing, it had lots of little circular mirrors on it. Can't wait to see more on Monday when I'm back in London.

Check out the website which has a handy map of their locations.

Caversham Arts Trail

It is less than a week until the first Caversham Arts Trail starts and I've been busy cleaning my studio ready for visitors. I think I may have cleaned it too much so I'm going to have to make a few things this week or it will look like I don't really use it.

The Caversham Arts Trail starts on Saturday 8th May and continues on Sunday 9th May, Saturday 15th and Sunday 16th May. All venues are open from 11am to 5pm. Please pop along to any venues you can, I'll be at venue 5 along with Machi of Magpienest. We will also be having join in sessions to make pottery and jewellery, check the website for details of demonstrations and events throughout the trail.

You can download the map here. Here is a little snippet of work from the artists on the trail, see more on the Caversham Arts Trail website.

Don't forget that it's also the West Berkshire and North Hampshire open studios from 1st to 30th May. This year Charles Burns who is also taking part in the Caversham Open Studios is also part of the West Berkshire and North Hampshire open studios, you can see the days that you can visit his studio here, you won't be disappointed!
