The last few months....

The last few months have been incredibly busy with organising Reveal as well as having a stand at the South Hill Park craft fair and setting up my folksy.com shop. Looking back it's been very successful. I've had great feedback, met some inspirational people (virtually and in the flesh) as well as selling a substantial amount of my work. I've been spending some quality time on folksy chatting with other makers and generally enjoying myself among other artistic people.

After doing my accounts I'm now in the mood for planning 2009. I'm looking into taking part in a few open studio events, organising a few more Reveal events (
www.revealshowcase.com), adding more items to my folksy and etsy shops and promoting my craft in as many ways as possible. Now is also the time to get craft fair applications in so i'll be doing that for the next few weeks. I also need to start making new pieces, think i went over board making the same pieces this year, have some new designs to work on which is exciting.

As I’ve spent a lot of time on folksy lately thought I should share with you some of the fabulous items that are currently for sale. To see more go to folksy.com.

How about this handmade Felted Flower Brooch, a snip at £7.00 from Fibrespace. Think i've got to have one soon!

I love the purses in Natalie Farrell's Shop. The detail is great and anything with buttons on gets my vote.

Love Emma Gordon's shop. These bags are mouthwatering. The fabrics and finish are amazing. This is one of my favourites.

Some lovely handmade table mats from JakJak. These mats are heat resistant and padded with an interlining. Chocolate brown with blue flower detail. Don't you just love them. See JakJak's shop for more items for sale.

And finally these lovely earrings 'rain' by Gem Heaven .Beautiful earrings with a hint of summer rain!Crystal quartz briolettes with A grade Iolite teardrops and facetd rondelles handwired onto chain with a crystal quartz bead. I've got to have these too...it's just a matter of time.

Also thought i'd feature the one christmas present i bought from folksy this year. Cocoon - Labradorite & Red Coral Sterling Silver earrings from Eastern Sky . They are as lovely in the flesh as they are in the photo. I nearly kept them myself.

I better stop there. Hope you all have a wonderful New Year.

Button pot update

Here are a few of the latest button pots I've been working on. It's addictive, sewing buttons on pots. Having a lot of buttons and being indecisive isn't the best combination but it's relaxing in a odd way.

Local Shop...Local Roots

Yesterday i went to the beautiful market town of Abingdon, Oxfordshire to drop some work off with a shop called Local Roots.(www.localroots.co.uk) They sell quality goods which have been produced within a 30 miles of the shop.

Their ethos is to promote an ecological approach to retail, with much of the produce sourced from organic farms and smallholdings, and an emphasis on fair trade and minimal environmental impact in all aspects of the business.

The shop is a welcoming warm and cosy treasure trove that is very much worth a visit. They have mouth watering chutneys and jams and now 21 pieces of Lauren Denney Ceramics.

Check out their website for more info www.localroots.co.uk

I love buttons too...

These are some brooches that i have been making. They are made from white earthenware clay and glazed with various coloured glazes. i've sewn the vintage buttons on after they have been glazed and fired. I'm addicted to making them, no two are the same which makes it much more interesting.

Blog inspiration....

My inspiration for this blog came from Monda Loves.... her blog is fab, so interesting, check it out on http://monda-loves.blogspot.com/. Don't you just love these furry monsters made from recycled jumpers.

Monda also bought these two pots from me and set up this lovely photo.
